Terri Koller Kaplan Memorial Fund

The Terri Koller Kaplan Memorial Fund was established in 2010 to honor the life and memory of Terri Kaplan, a mother, wife, clinical social worker, and human rights activist. Terri was a brave woman who fought against small cell lung cancer for six years. She always took an active role in her health and the health of others, exploring many avenues of health and a healthy lifestyle. In January 2004, Terri's quest led her to the Simonton Cancer Center and the work of Dr. O. Carl Simonton, MD.

Terri came to be a firm believer in the work and methods of Dr. Simonton and spent much of her time working to help others better understand the disease of cancer. Like Dr. Simonton, Terri's goal was not only to help others survive, but to help them improve their quality of life. In fact, Terri periodically paid for other patients, who were in financial need, to attend the Simonton Cancer Center programs. It is in this same spirit of compassion and generosity that Terri’s son, Ross Keller, set up the Terri Koller Kaplan Memorial Fund in honor of his mother.

This fund allows the families and friends of cancer patients to donate money directly to the Simonton Center for payment of their loved one’s program. Theses donations will act as a scholarship for the individual attending, reducing the amount the patient will have to pay out of pocket.

The beauty of the Terri Koller Kaplan Memorial Fund is that no amount is too small; every dollar donated helps a patient get one step closer to their goal. To make it as easy as possible to contribute we accept checks, credit cards, and wire transfers. All donations made to the Terri Koller Kaplan Memorial Fund are tax-deductible, and once a donation is made we will send out a thank you letter with our tax information included.
